About Wattcue
Wattcue is a governance-led digital layer for the UK's warm homes, affordability, and net-zero delivery ecosystem. We help advice organisations, councils, and housing providers convert advice and programme support into completed actions at scale.
What we measure
Completed actions, not handoffs.
Help households reduce energy stress by turning advice into action.
UK energy advice is delivered at crisis point, under strict time limits, with no infrastructure to keep households moving afterward. Wattcue is that follow-through layer, built so delivery partners can evidence what actually changed in the home.
- Governance first, not bolted on
- Rules-first, explainable sequencing
- Evidence by design for partners and funders
- Partner-funded, free at point of use for households
Four principles, written in load-bearing terms.
These are not values posters. They are the four commitments partners can challenge us on, and the criteria we use when we say no to scope.
Governance first
Consent, role boundaries, audit events, and tenant separation are load-bearing, not decoration. Partners can point to documentation on day one.
Rules first
Deterministic, explainable recommendations. The customer workflow does not depend on opaque model calls, and every reason is challengeable.
Evidence by design
Every case writes an audit event. Every recommendation carries a plain-language reason. Funders and auditors get outputs that read like evidence, not marketing.
Safety by refusal
No autonomous high-stakes decisions. No regulated debt advice. No savings guarantees. No commission-based referrals. What we refuse is as load-bearing as what we do.
The commercial shape behind the product.
Most questions about conflict of interest collapse once the commercial model is visible. Here is ours, in plain English.
Partner-funded
Councils, housing providers, and advice organisations pay for Wattcue. Households never do. This keeps accountability pointed at delivery partners, not at the people we are meant to be helping.
No commission referrals
We do not take commissions on supplier switches, grant applications, or installations. Revenue does not depend on a household saying yes to any third party, so recommendations stay clean.
Human-in-the-loop
Eligibility, safeguarding, and regulated advice always route to a named human. We are an adviser-in-the-loop layer, not a replacement for professional judgement.
What the team brings to the work.
Wattcue is built by a small founding team with frontline energy-affordability experience and production engineering depth, supported by public-sector and safeguarding specialists.
Frontline energy-affordability experience
Operational time spent on the ground with households in crisis, not just in policy rooms. The product reflects what actually happens in a kitchen-table conversation.
Production engineering depth
Secure platforms, auditable systems, and UK-jurisdiction hosting. Built like infrastructure a public-sector reviewer can recognise, not a prototype.
Safeguarding and public-sector advisers
We work alongside safeguarding specialists, energy advisers, and public-sector reviewers to keep the platform grounded in real delivery constraints.
UK-based, founder-led
Small founding team. Direct access to the people building the product, no gatekept account managers, no overseas support tier.
We name people once they consent to being named publicly. Until then, what matters is the work, not the biography.
Four things Wattcue will not become.
These are the refusals we lead every partner conversation with. They protect the accountability our partners depend on, and they protect the households we serve.
No regulated debt advice
We do not give advice that would require FCA authorisation. Debt conversations route to your authorised adviser, full stop.
No savings guarantees
Household energy savings depend on tariff, occupancy, weather, and behaviour. We do not promise a £ figure we cannot control.
No hidden AI decisions
The customer workflow is deterministic and explainable. No opaque model calls sit between the household and a high-stakes outcome.
No commission-based referrals
We do not take fees on supplier switches, grant applications, or installations. Recommendations stay clean because revenue does not depend on them.
An honest map of the journey so far.
Wattcue is pre-launch. We are having early partner conversations, not running a sales engine. The map below is what progress looks like from here.
Listening to the sector
Discovery conversations with advisers, programme leads, retrofit delivery teams, and safeguarding specialists. Understanding the follow-through gap in their own words.
Designing the operating model
Governance-first architecture, rules-first sequencing, and evidence-by-design outputs. Validated against public-sector procurement and IG review.
Early partner conversations
The stage we are in now. Scoping calls with councils, housing providers, and advice organisations to find the first pilots.
Pilot engagements
Time-boxed pilot waves with documented evidence triggers. Every pilot ends with an explicit renewal decision, not an auto-rollover.
Let's talk about your cohort.
A 30-minute discovery call is the fastest way to see whether Wattcue fits your programme. No pitch deck required, just your delivery context and the outcomes you need to evidence.
