Our commitment
Wattcue is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including users of assistive technology. Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 at Level AA.
We take accessibility seriously because our users include households in vulnerable circumstances and the delivery partners that serve them. Poor accessibility is not a nice-to-have issue for us; it is a safeguarding issue.
What we have built for
The following accessibility features are in place across the Wattcue marketing site:
- Semantic HTML with clearly labelled landmarks, headings, and lists
- Full keyboard navigation including a visible skip-to-main-content link on every page
- Focus states visible on every interactive element
- Colour contrast meeting WCAG AA for text and interactive surfaces
- Responsive layouts that reflow down to 320 pixels wide without horizontal scroll
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative images are marked as such
- Forms with associated labels, error states, and descriptive help text
- No content relies on colour alone to convey meaning
- Site works with browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content
Known limitations
We are honest about where our current accessibility falls short, and committed to addressing these before launch:
- This site has not yet been audited by an independent third party. An external accessibility audit is on our pre-launch roadmap
- Some motion-rich sections animate on scroll. We intend to honour the prefers-reduced-motion system setting; if you find any remaining motion, please tell us
- Editorial photography is sourced from stock libraries; some alt-text could be more descriptive and is being reviewed
How to report an accessibility issue
If you find something inaccessible, please email accessibility@wattcue.com with the page URL, a brief description, and any assistive technology or browser details that are relevant. We aim to acknowledge reports within two working days and substantively respond within ten working days.
Alternative formats
If you need content from this website in an alternative format (for example, large print, audio, easy-read summary, or a screen-reader-friendly document), email accessibility@wattcue.com and tell us what you need. We will do our best to provide it within a reasonable timeframe.
Enforcement and escalation
We would always prefer to hear from you first so we can fix things quickly. If you are not satisfied with how we have responded, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Equality Act 2010 and the accessibility regulations. You can raise a concern with EASS, the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
How this site has been tested
Our internal testing covers keyboard-only navigation, screen reader spot checks (NVDA and VoiceOver), automated tooling in CI, and responsive checks across common viewport sizes. This statement is reviewed on the schedule shown at the top of the page and any time we make a substantive change to the site.
